So considering people should get to the airport at least an hour before their flight they're going to have to get up around 3am (after 10-1) in order to get ready and head to ORH. What a joke. JB is definitely setting this flight up to fail.

Editor's note:   Leaving at this time we agree is ridiculous!!  Will anyone be there to service the passengers at the cafe, etc??

Editor's Update:    After reading some comments.  Maybe we are wrong??? Starting to change our minds here.....

I can see the guy that operates the Jetway oversleeping and showing up late.

This early morning timeframe is ridiculous “insert Southwest 5am & 5:15am flights to Tampa & Orlando from PVD that are constantly sold out”, “insert Southwests 5am, 5:30am & 5:45am flights to their hubs and Orlando from BDL that are constantly sold out”, “insert Southwests 5:20am flights to Orlando from MHT that’s usually 75% full” (Manchester is dying a slow death, its fighting Logan’s catchment area vs ORH that has the Worcester Metro area). I fly to Orlando regularly for work from all the local airports (whatever’s available when I book last minute)(I fly Southwest) and I can tell you personally that the early mornings flights are always the ones with kids. It’s usually easier to get a seat on the mid morning flights than the early morning ones. One can argue the 1am arrival time is a bit much (I think that has more to do with gate availability in FLL than anything else, don’t have an open gate to assign to that flight till later on in the evening probably) but one can’t really argue that the 530am flight out is too early. Those 5-6am flights to Florida are usually the most popular. And full of kids!!!

Unpopular opinion: I love these new times and wish that American to JFK would have a similar schedule. It would be perfect for international connections.

Might not even matter. If we're headed into a major recession some folks won't have the luxury of taking their families on a FL vacation. The travel industry will probably get slammed and ORH could see itself without commercial service again. I know that if I hadn't paid for my trip to Antigua over a year ago I wouldn't have been able to go this Fall.

First flights out in the early morning are the ones least likely to be delayed or canceled.

It also gets you to the destination early enough for late morning or PM meetings, Devin ER meetings etc and saves the cost of one hotel night (which is likely why it is popular with families).

I never mind getting up early to catch an early flight. It is a super late arrival that I detest. Especially if I have a drive after landing and/or an early start the ext day. And if that flight gets delayed, good luck!

@ Anonymous :

First flights out are sometimes canceled if the late night arrival flight gets canceled... That happens with Jetblue JFK-ORH evening flight, and then the morning flight.

Schedule actually changed for the FLL flight. JetBlue is extending the A320 up at the airport now until the middle of December. The flight time is during the mid day, close to where it is now. October 30th, it’ll leave FLL at 1128am and arrive at ORH at 230pm. Then leave ORH at 315pm and arrive back at 631pm. It’ll stay that way until December 14th. Everything remains the same for now. It’ll go back to early am in the middle of December however, don’t stick with that. This was an unannounced change and this is the second time they’ve done that. It is still a good change because more seats on an aircraft means cheaper flight tickets (some flights are $100 each way and that includes a carry on), it’s a mid day flight which is convenient for people flying out of both ORH and FLL to go there and from (so your not either waking up extremely early or arriving extremely late) and tickets should sell extremely well on it especially with free/cheap parking.
