Seems like that schedule that was originally posted for June is going to go till Labor Day Weekend for the FLL flight. New time starting June 1st: flight departs FLL at 12:15 PM and arrives at ORH at 3:22 PM. Flight back leaves ORH at 4:10 PM and arrived at 7:27 PM. Time will fluctuate by 20-30 minutes throughout the summer. Starting July 8th, the aircraft will change from the E190 to the A320 restyled aircraft as well, an increase of 62 seats. Hopefully that pays off for them. The benefits of this move are: you don’t have to get up extremely early (4/5am) to catch a flight to FLL, you won’t arrive back at ORH around 11 or midnight (sometimes even 1am), you don’t have to wait all day in FLL for your flight back home, the flight back home is at a convenient time where you can check out of your hotel and go right to the airport and be back in the afternoon to Worcester, you have to be at ORH at a time where it’s honestly really good since there’s less traffic on highways and it’s during the day so it’s easier to get to the airport. Plus, when the A320 comes in, mechanical issues are a lot less likely to occur. The only downsides I see of this are connections to areas like Puerto Rico and other areas like the Bahamas will be an issue possibly with the later flight, and Florida rain/thunderstorms typically happen in the afternoon/evening which could be a concern as well but other than that, a lot more benefits with that change. Hopefully JetBlue’s gamble pays off with adding more seats because if it does, then it’ll show that people are interested in flying out of ORH with Jetblue

Just saw on Jetblue’s website that the JFK flight this evening isn’t suppose to leave until 4:34 AM. Both JFK flights look really good from ORH for tomorrow so they probably can’t afford to cancel it or don’t want too considering it will be a profitable flight. Loads are 72% for early morning, and 68% for late morning/mid day which is why they haven’t cancelled it yet. Looked at American and Delta for tomorrow too, pretty much all but 2 seats on their coach class areas are booked for tomorrow. Tomorrow will have a lot of people flying out of ORH so hopefully everything goes smoothly. (Reason most likely because of college graduations this past weekend)

Was just reading about the new contract for the acting city manager. Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but it states that if the City picks a different city manager they have to pay him until he finds another job. So if it takes him two years to find another job the City owes him $500,000?

City of Chicopee is setting aside $3 million to actually lower their residential tax rate for FY 2022. Can't imagine Worcester ever doing this. Maybe the $3 million the City wasted on those dumb signs downtown could have been used to give a little relief to its taxpayers?

I think Mike O'Brien did something similar to what Chicopee is doing now many years ago because taxes were getting out of control like they are now.
According to the terms of the contract, Batista will be paid a $225,000 annual salary until a permanent city manager is found and will have use of a city vehicle to conduct his duties. If Batista is not selected as the permanent city manager, he will be given a severance package where the city will pay him for up to five months or until he finds full-time employment, whichever comes first

Hopefully, they'll do a national search this time. Maybe someone with an MBA from the corporate world. We don't need another deal like Augustus worked out for the Woosox.If you have a really good candidate I don't have a problem paying her $400,000 per year. We have a patrolman on the Worcester Police with a high school education making $304,000 per year.
