No one that I know wants the project to fail because if it does we end up paying for it but if you raise concerns that it appears to be failing you are labeled as being against the project.

No one wants it to fail.

What most concerned citizens worried about, which is happening, could be put into two possible areas of concern.

1) the star struck small town local yocals being bamboozled by the city slickers. Or

2) the lack of transparency because the ones in power that are supposed to protect the interest of the city and its citizen got taken for a ride that the city will pay for for years.

And many saw this coming from a distance. At least the Madison project is keeping close to there original Proposal, albeit delayed

If you go back and look at the pro forma, the first residential building, and all the other buildings, were suppose to be completed BEFORE January 2021. This was when the ball park was estimated to cost $100 million.

Now the ball park is estimated to cost $175 million and the only building close to being completed and producing additional taxes, 2.5 years late, is the first residential building which you state just received it's funding and people are asking why the Worcester Business Journal is inquiring how the project pays for itself.

How about using a little common sense.

The only project in Kelly Sq that is nearing completion is the Gas Station, store and retail buildings that replaced the old Gulf Station/ Dunkin.

All private money, no TIF or DIF or free cash from the taxpayers.

Small town local yokels? That’s what you think of people in our city? Why does it seem that those that have the worst to say about Worcester usually live in Worcester?

I think the reference to small town yolkalls is towards the people who negotiated the deal(s) not the citizens of the City. I could be wrong.

Exactly, the citizens deserve better. The project is way over budget , blaming material
Costs delays ect. How can a project this large not have a force majure clause? How can the fortunate few get a jump
Properties coming up? How can projects with tifs ect still
Get the benefit of new economic development areas? Has the sox ownership even paid their first two payments? How can the other developers change and delay their projects, which puts the promised financing of the park under question? The citizens were promised transparency and that they would not be responsible
For the financing. Now it seems this is all in question , transparency never happened , and fees for the public are on the rise. Lets get everything out on the table so we can learn and move forward instead of trying the bigger and better will cover up the uhohs. Lets not try to charge the property owners , small businesses or take from funding for safety and the children.

Do we know why the WooSox are not paying real estate taxes?
