Delta flight today to LGA is sold out. The flight is really starting to take off

This is a house of cards and between the costs going up and the proposed development being stalled or downsized, cards are constantly being pulled out. I do not know what can be done at this time but the first step to realizing there is a problem and pulling your head out of the sand. At what point in time does the City Council start asking the questions they should have been asking previously. It pains me to say this but in this particular instance I miss Konnie Lukes, she would at least be asking questions and not turning a blind eye on the issues.
I will give you a summary of the proforma which the City will never produce. Revenues going down down and down some more. Expenses going up, up and up some more, but trust us we are going to make millions on this project along the way but unfortunately some restaurants and bars in the Canal District may have to close. The City at its finest.

It is being reported that the Cove will only have 99 parking spaces for the 173 units and the restaurant/retail space. On game days parking is aweful, this will only make it worse. I hope the planning board makes the developer add more spaces because this will make a bad situation worse. Otherwise people will be putting lawn chairs out on Green Street when they go to work on game days.

The City should require at least 1 parking space per apartment. Nothing less.

The planning board already OK’d many fewer parking spaces than units when them project was twice the size.
Remember, everybody is supposed to ride bikes everywhere. That’s why we spent so much money putting bike lanes in city streets when most won’t even go outside 5 months a year due to a little thing called winter that the city seems to have overlooked

This summer I could not find parking two times on game days and ended up going to eat on Shrewsbury St. This housing development will most certainly make matters worse. If I owned a bar or restaraunt in the Canal District I would be demanding the City require more parking because it is killing businesses.

Pretty soon there will be a huge new apartment building right at the southern end of Shrewsbury St on top of Leo’s restaurant. There won’t be any parking on Shrewsbury St either except for that project itself.

Parking will continue to be a major issue in the City for a long time to come. Residents rely on their vehicles because the mass transit, WRTA, is not convenient and nothing like those in other major cities. People rely on their cars in Worcester and I would speculate there are on average 2 cares per apartment. Now layer in restaurants, bars and stores in an area with residential units and the problem gets worse because the number competing for parking spaces increases. Add in a ballpark and it is beyond comprehension, the Hunger Games. Parking on Shrewsbury St isn't great but it is better than in the Canal District. If the City wishes to continue to grow they need to address the parking issue as larger apartment units are added.
