LDA For LFB Building Has Been Completed

jetBlue NYC Flight News This Week Complete Non-Story

Saw this everywhere this past week??

The  truth is this flight was a loser for Worcester flying out first thing in the morning (6am) and not returning to past 11PM.   We believe the loads were under 60% and routes do not last at these loads.     Nor do we want them!!

In order to make this a successful route, we needed a mid-day turn.   Maybe said this 1000 times on the blog???      We would not want this route back with this schedule.  It will just fail again and be another black eye for ORH.

Nor do we want want the one American flight to their hub in Philadelphia (with planes that could not handle CAT III), nor do we want the one Delta flight to their hub in Detroit (should have been Atlanta).    The times were bad and again tough to make a flight to a legacy hub with only one flight per day.   By the way, these loads were never good either.

These three flights by legacy carriers to their hubs seemed to have started to curry favor with Massport, then to build Worcester Airport into a true reliever airport for Boston.    More a public relations move to have these carriers listed on the website as serving Worcester, then actually trying to build service.

On the other hand JetBlue did well for over 5 years with daily flights to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando always over 80% with the unreliable Embraer 190 (100 seats) and not the best schedule.     We believe JetBlue will be back with these flights in 2021, especially with their new Airbus that is much more fuel efficient, realiable and will have lower prices with 130 seats..

We predict by the fall these two flights to Florida will be back!!!!

**  Footnote:  Do not get us wrong we would love to have the NYC flight back, but only if there are two flights per day.   One flight simply can not succeed.

What is "unreliable" about the E190??

Embrae broke down alot. Dont take our word for it? Why do you think JetBlue wants to replace it so badly... https://thepointsguy.com/news/jetblue-first-a220-300-delivery/

JetBlue is buying A220s because their operating cost is much lower than the E190. Not reliability issues!

Yes on the much lower operating costs. That is true. But there was alort of mechanical problems with the Embraer 190.

Bill. Wasn't there an issue with not having a mechanic onsite? I think it took him an unreasonable amount of time to get to the airport to perform repairs. Also, I'm not sure why the Chamber of Commerce had to conduct a study (after about 10 were done before) to determine which destinations people want to fly to from ORH. You would think if they have half a brain they would just look at the load factors to see which flights were successful.

You are Rectrix did not have a mechanic on duty so if the NYC flight had a problem people would have to wait an hour and half just for a mechanic to arrive.. Remember our buddy Rich Cawley...
