Maybe Not Having A Signed Lease With The PawSox Is Not A Bad Thing

 Way back at the beginning:

Part A)

  1. According to the WooSox agreement, Larry L get 100% of the naming rights annually for 17 years
  2. According to the WooSox agreement, Larry L get 100% of the ballpark advertising
  3. According to the WooSox agreement, Larry L will get 100% of the Left Field Building advertising
  4. According to the WooSox agreement, Larry L will get 50% of the ballpark district advertising
  5. According to the WooSox agreement, Larry L. will get 50% of the “other”city advertising
  6. Ballpark (Larry L) also retains all revenues froom the operation of the ballpark including , but not limited to tickets, concesssions, liquor and pouring revenues, branding rights, premium seating, broadcast rights, merchandise and naming rights.

Does anyone have any idea what Polar is paying for the naming rights?

Part B)

We were depending on Phase I developments to pay our costs:

South side of Madison

  • 225 market rent rate apartments
  • 50,000 sq feet of retail/restaurant of which 30,000 parking garage
  • 150 hotel rooms

North side of Madison

  • 100 hotel rooms
  • 15,000 sq feet of retail/restaurant
  • 200/280 parking spaces

Conclusion

Considering we (the taxpayers) are going to get nothing from Part B) above maybe we should renegotiate Part A), since there is no signed lease!!!

Does anyone know exatly what Polar is paying each year for naming rights???   Why should Larry get 100% of that???

Not to mention that PawSox have not made their first $3,000,000 payment due last December.  Time to pay hardball???

Larry just wants to know if you’re planning to buy a new Worcester Red Sox jersey. 😀
