Detail pay is paid by the underlying contractor, who has hired the police officer, not the taxpayers... In fact, the City of Worcester gets 10% off the top for the expense to process the details. Think we remember the City of Worcester cut to be around $700,000.
BTW this income does not count towards their pension.
The amount a WPD police officer makes doing paid detail has no impact on the taxpayers!!!!
At the same time $130,000,000 Polar Park does have an impact on taxpayers, and we:
1) do not own the land
2) have no lease with the main tenant
3) no private development agreement with Madison Properties
Maybe we should be discussing this?
Is it just me or is anyone else questioning the timing of this salary drop?
