Holy Cross Football And Worcester Airport

The other day we posted this tweet then we saw this comment :

Of course we had to find out more.

Lili is the mom of Sophomore Defensive Back John Smith #27 from  Lake Worth Florida. John flies about 6-7 times per year direct from Fort Laudersale to Worcester then catches a very inexpensive Uber to Holy Cross, which is less then 5 miles away.

He is often accompanies by his teammate Sophomore Defensive Lineman Matt Cedano # 98 from Delray Beach.  This year, they will be joined by Freshman Jack Coulson #83 from Boca Raton.

We need to do a better job marketing Worcester Airport to college students.   Even if you are not lucky enough to have a direct flight, like this one from Fort Lauderdale, you can easily get to Worcester Airport with three major carriers:

  1. JetBlue with one stop at JFK
  2. American with one stop at Philadelphia
  3. Delta with one stop at Detroit

Students would rather make one stop at these airports, versus trying to get to Worcester once they were to land in Boston or Providence!!   Can get expensive and time consuming making this 40 mile trek.

FOOTNOTE:

What a difference the vibe is from Holy Cross football now that Chesney have moved from Assumption to Holy Cross.   In the past two weeks,  former Patriot Max Lane son has committed to Holy Cross

Highly recruited QG from South Carolina Hunter Helms has also committed to Holy Cross

Maybe Holy Cross only recruits people with the first name Hunter??  We may have to look into season tickets again, it has been over 20 years since the last time we attended a game.
